I am coming to terms with my need for journaling separate from blogging. In blogging, I want you to read my thoughts. In journaling, I want to practice my thoughts.

Update: for example, I've started using a journaling app, but I often have thoughts while away from my computer. I need a Mac OS X journaling system that integrates with my Treo, ideally using the wireless web to move content from my phone back to my laptop. I'd use this a lot to capture lyrical ideas on my phone, and later work them into choruses and verses on my laptop.
