Giant Hornworm Caterpillar

My mother-in-law found this giant caterpillar in her tomato garden. More than 1 inch thick and almost 5 inches in length, this thing just kept eating and eating and eating and… Click it for more images.

I think it’s an Apple Sphinx, a common hornworm caterpillar.
