Erg. I disconnected my iPhone from my computer to check something, then reconnected it, and got the following dialog box:
"iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone... Go to the summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore..."
I would gladly do this, but my iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes. So now what?
UPDATE
With all their industrial and interaction design prowress, you'd think someone could word a simple dialog box better. See, the phrase "summary tab" implied the tabbed interface in iTunes when my iPhone appears. But infact, what this message should say is:
"iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone... On your iPhone, go to the General Settings and click Restore..."
