An Architect's View reports:
Macromedia has announced Flex 1.5. Make sure to watch the What's New Breeze presentation!
For anyone who hasn't been paying attention to the Flash economy, this post highlights two important Flash-related products. First, the What's New presentation was done in Breeze Presenter, which is a tool that converts PowerPoint slides into web-ready multimedia presentations in Flash. Second, Flex is an application building environment for webapp developers that generates Flash.
But that's not all! There's a third product called FlashPaper, which is effectively a print driver that converts any Office document into Flash. And there's a fourth product called Captivate, which allows users to create product demonstrations by capturing screen movies and converting them into Flash. And of course, there's still Flash MX, which allows users to build Flash animations for storytelling, games, and advertising.
And not only is Flash playable on 97% of the connected computers and devices worldwide, Macromedia also has a product that runs Flash outside the browser and on the desktop, called Central.
But apparently, Flash on PCs is only just the beginning...
